PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Terra Panonica project will ensure permanent infrastructure and serve as a starting point for all nature lovers in Požega-Slavonia County, building its potential on the NATURA 2020 ecological network, great biodiversity of plant and animal species, and fossil remains from the Pannonian Sea that are over 24 million years old. It is precisely these natural resources that will serve as a basis for building the infrastructure and the management system for the purpose of economic development of the entire County, at the same time raising awareness of the need for nature protection and the preservation of natural heritage.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: increased tourist activity and economic activity throughout the County
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE: sustainable use of natural heritage in order to contribute to a sustainable socio-economic development of Pleternica through the establishment of a modern and fully equipped Terra Panonica Interpretation Center, with well-developed interpretation and education programs for various target groups throughout the year
TARGET GROUPS: small family businesses, NGOs, schoolchildren, young people, tourists, visitors, and the local community which will use the infrastructure
PROJECT RESULTS:
– Built and equipped TPIC infrastructure and walking trail
– Over 25% increase in visitors participating in educational programs
– A minimum of 3 new employees
– A minimum of 8 new tourist attractions
– Introduction of renewable energy sources – solar power plant on the TPIC
